Mr. Marino Calvarese

     Behind every good group is a good leader.  But calling Mr. Marino Calvarese  merely good would be a gross understatement!  Mr. Calvarese graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1977 with an undergraduate degree in music performance and a BFA and MFA in Music Education.

     Mr. Calvarese started out at Valley High School in New Kensington.  In his only year at Valley, Mr. C took their Jazz Band to the State Competition.  This would be the first of many musical competitions for Calvarese.

      In 1989, Mr. Calvarese was named the new Instrumental Music Instructor for Moon Area High School.  Mr. C was determined to keep Moon Area's tradition of excellence alive in it's music program.  He has done this by demanding the best work that his students can give and always giving his best in return.  He has led the program to victories in numerous competitions and looks forward to many more.
