The Moon Area High School Symphonic Band is widely recognized as one of the greatest symphonic bands in the country. Led by Mr. Marino Calvarese, the Symphonic band is designed
for the more advanced instrumentalists of the student body. The band plays level five and six music, while paying special attention to music theory. The band is selected by audition and is open to all
students in Moon Area High School that participate in the marching band. The band performs in the winter and spring concerts and will be returning to the All American Music Festival in Orlando Florida.

Last year the Symphonic Band attended The All American Music Festival in Orlando Florida. The Ensemble placed first in its division and won the judges choice award in
addition to recieving an Oustanding Rating. At the end of the competition year, the Symphonic Band was rated as the second-best concert/symphonic band in its division for the country.
